Echo Technician
Job Purpose:
The Echo Technician is responsible for performing echocardiograms (ultrasound examinations of the
heart) and other related diagnostic imaging procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong
understanding of cardiac anatomy, proficient technical skills, and the ability to provide compassionate
patient care.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and educate patients on the echocardiogram procedure, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring that it is in good working condition and performing regular quality checks.
- Capture and analyze images to ensure diagnostic accuracy; make preliminary assessments and prepare preliminary reports for review by the cardiologist or physician.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient exams, including imaging results, patient history, and other relevant information.
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and support diagnostic decisions.
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols, ensuring a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Job Specifications:
- Qualification: Bachelor degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- Experience: 1 -2yrs Previous experience as an Echo Technician
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in echocardiography imaging;
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge: Understanding of cardiac anatomy, pathophysiology, and echocardiography techniques; familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
