Echo Technician

Job Purpose: 
The Echo Technician is responsible for performing echocardiograms (ultrasound examinations of the
heart) and other related diagnostic imaging procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong
understanding of cardiac anatomy, proficient technical skills, and the ability to provide compassionate
patient care.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and educate patients on the echocardiogram procedure, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  2. Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring that it is in good working condition and performing regular quality checks.
  3. Capture and analyze images to ensure diagnostic accuracy; make preliminary assessments and prepare preliminary reports for review by the cardiologist or physician.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient exams, including imaging results, patient history, and other relevant information.
  5. Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and support diagnostic decisions.
  6. Adhere to safety and infection control protocols, ensuring a safe environment for both patients and staff.

Job Specifications:

  • Qualification: Bachelor degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • Experience: 1 -2yrs Previous experience as an Echo Technician
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in echocardiography imaging;
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of cardiac anatomy, pathophysiology, and echocardiography techniques; familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
