Job Title: Nursing Superintendent
Reports To: Head of Operations
Purpose: To provide leadership and direction for the nursing department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures that align with the mission and values of Aveksha Hospital
- Manage the budget for the nursing department and provide financial oversight to ensure efficient use of resources
- Recruit, hire, and manage nursing staff, ensuring that the department is staffed with qualified, competent nurses
- Supervise and evaluate nursing staff, providing coaching and mentoring as needed
- Ensure that nursing staff receive adequate training and continuing education to maintain their competencies
- Oversee the delivery of patient care, ensuring that all nursing practices are evidence-based and meet or exceed industry standards
- Address patient and staff complaints or concerns, taking appropriate action to resolve issues
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including those related to patient safety, infection control, and privacy
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with other departments within the hospital, as well as with external partners such as other healthcare providers and government agencies
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Master’s degree in Nursing Administration or a related field
- Several years of experience working as a nurse, with at least 3 years in a management/supervisory role
- Current registered nurse (RN) license
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong understanding of healthcare laws, regulations and accreditation standards.
